In Remembrance of our dear Friend, Colleague and Teacher on his Birthday
1.12.1965 – 13.5.2019
We were deeply saddened to hear that Stephen Friday, Management Committee Member, supporter of LFSS, solicitor, husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away in May 2019.
Stephen played a major role in the development and growth of our Saturday School for over 25 years. He worked tirelessly to ensure that we were able to continue our work in the community and his voluntary work supported every aspect of the School. As a Trustee and Management Committee Member, he advised on the School’s direction and administration with his legal knowledge and expertise. Through his generosity and kindness, the School received much-needed financial support during difficult times.
Every Saturday morning, Stephen was at LFSS, working quietly and diligently to get things done, making us laugh with his infectious smile and sense of humour.
Stephen made a massive contribution to our School and wider
community. He was remarkably humble and an inspiring role model for all of us. Stephen
was a quiet, humorous, professional, caring and organised man, admired by
everyone who met him. We appreciated his hard work and commitment to the school
over the years.
Our words will not be enough to convey all that he has done for the school over
25 years. Even on his birthday 1st December, Stephen would come to
the Saturday School to help run the school.
This year, in our 45th Anniversary of Lemuel Findlay Supplementary School, we are certain that the impact of his work in our community will be felt for generations to come.
Our sincere thanks and condolences go to Stephen’s family who have supported
LFSS.
We all miss you Stephen.
